Discover the best coffee shops, cafes, and bakeries offering unique and delightful moments in Downtown Dubai.
Downtown Dubai is the most concentrated specialty coffee district in the city. Within a 15-minute walk of Burj Khalifa you'll find an artisan Lebanese pastry house, a Brazilian-inspired cafe, a roastery from Ethiopia and one of the few late-night specialty spots in the UAE — eight coffee shops, cafes and bakeries we've personally visited and reviewed.
Whether you're searching for cafes in Downtown Dubai for a working morning, or for a quick coffee on the Boulevard, the venues below cover every micro-need in the area. Most Downtown spots sit either on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard (the curved road circling Burj Park) or inside Dubai Mall. Boulevard venues tend to have outdoor terraces with skyline views; Dubai Mall venues are climate-controlled, open later and easier in summer. Five of our eight Downtown picks open by 07:00 and five stay open past 22:00 — handy for early meetings, late dessert runs, or working between rounds at the mall.
Downtown's coffee scene is shaped by the neighbourhood itself: residents from Burj Views and Boulevard towers, business travellers staying at Address hotels, and a steady flow of tourists arriving for Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountain. That mix produces an unusual concentration of venues that are simultaneously laptop-friendly, dog-friendly and Instagram-friendly.
Specialty roasters and coffee shops. Boon Coffee Roasters at Forte Tower is our top pick — Ethiopian-rooted, dog-friendly, with alt milks, decaf and outdoor seating right under Burj Khalifa. Roasters Specialty Coffee House on the Boulevard is the latest-closing specialty spot in Downtown — open until midnight on weekdays and 02:00 on Saturdays. Coffee Planet Foundry keeps it simple: shaded outdoor seats, free WiFi and Arabica-only espresso, 08:00 to 22:00.
Inside Dubai Mall. Peet's Coffee at Star Atrium is the quietest option — a laptop nook with West Coast roasts that stays open until midnight. Tucano Coffee (Cuba branch) opposite Burj At The Top runs latest of all, until 02:00, with a tropical-Cuban fitout and digital ordering.
Bakeries and brunch. BABA ROMA Boulevard is the artisan French-Italian bakery for cruffins, croissants and a flat white outside on the Boulevard. Hallab 1881 at Dubai Mall brings Lebanon's iconic baklava and kunafa house — open until 01:00, perfect for after-fountain dessert. Caju Coffee House at Al Manzil is the Brazilian-inspired all-day brunch spot for açaí bowls and a strong morning espresso.
Seven of our eight picks are tagged laptop-friendly, but only two have power outlets at most tables (Tucano, Boon). For a longer working session see our laptop-friendly cafes in Dubai guide, and for quieter spots specifically suited to focused work see the best cafes for studying — Peet's and Coffee Planet Foundry feature on both lists.
