Find the best cafes in Downtown Dubai with refreshing outdoor seating. Enjoy your coffee and treats in the open air with stunning city views.
The outdoor cafes along Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard sit in one of Dubai's most walkable stretches — a 3km promenade lined with restaurants, cafes and retail, with the Burj Khalifa visible from most seating areas. What makes this area distinct from the rest of Dubai's outdoor cafe scene is the density: you can walk between several outdoor-seating spots within a few minutes, making it easy to explore rather than committing to one place.
The seating itself is generally terrace-style, raised slightly from the boulevard level. Most spots have overhead cover or umbrellas, which makes them usable even in the shoulder months when direct sun is still strong in the afternoon. Evening is when Downtown outdoor seating really comes into its own — the fountain shows run every 30 minutes after 6PM, and several cafes have views of the display.

Downtown Dubai outdoor seating is comfortable from mid-October through April. Outside of those months the heat makes outdoor sitting unpleasant regardless of shade — summer afternoons regularly exceed 40°C.
Within the season, timing matters:
The cafes on this page are all within easy walking distance of each other along the Boulevard. If you're spending an afternoon here, it's worth stopping at more than one — coffee at one spot, a bite at another. The walk between them takes you past the Dubai Fountain and the base of the Burj Khalifa, which makes the commute itself part of the experience.
Most of the establishments listed here are also pet-friendly on their outdoor terraces. If you're bringing a dog, check with the venue on arrival — policy varies slightly between locations.
The nearest metro is Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station on the Red Line. From the exit it's roughly a 5–10 minute walk to the Boulevard, depending on which cafe you're heading to. Paid parking is available in the Dubai Mall basement and in the Emaar Boulevard structures nearby.
