In 1881, Mahmoud Hallab opened a humble pastry atelier in Tripoli, Lebanon. Four generations later, Hallab remains the globally acclaimed gold standard for Lebanese sweets.
Every piece echoes over 140 years of craftsmanship: farm-fresh ghee, stone-ground semolina, and the finest Levantine pistachios come together in recipes passed down through the family. The founder's motto still guides every kitchen: "Do it perfectly or don't do it at all."
His grandsons transformed the ancestral home into Kasr El Helou — the Palace of Sweets — now one of Tripoli's most renowned tourist sites and a living monument to Lebanese confectionery heritage.

What People Say:
The most delicious sweets we tried in Dubai. If you are wondering what to bring back as a gift from Dubai, Al Hallab offers a wide selection of beautiful gift boxes that I highly recommend. Founded in 1881 in Tripoli, Lebanon, this historic brand is famois for its authentic Lebanese sweets, such as baklava, maamoul, and kunafa, made according to traditional recipes.

The first time we visited Hallab was about a year ago, and it was just "wow". I never expected pastries and Lebanese sweets to be this good. Their coffee selection and gift options are also fantastic. I definitely recommend visiting this place and giving it a try. Just be ready to spend some money — it's hard to stop buying things here :-D

If you're craving authentic Lebanese desserts, Hallab 1881 is an absolute must-visit. Located inside Dubai Mall, this spot delivers not just food, but an experience. I tried their kunafa with chocolate, and it was phenomenal — a perfect balance of crispy, creamy, and rich, with a decadent chocolate twist that takes it to the next level.

We found this place by chance wandering in Dubai Mall. They gave us a taste of the baklava and we were instantly hooked. We had the ice cream and the assorted baklavas. The nice staff also gave us some generous samples too. All of them are really nice and the sweetness is just right. We are definitely coming back again, and thank you to all the friendly staff!

Not exaggerating but this is the best Arabic sweet place I have ever been to! Quality of food and exceptional service are they key. This is now by far my favorite dessert place in Dubai Mall. Special thanks to Mr Nour, he was exceptional with his service and presentation 💐
