On April 1, 1966, Alfred Peet opened a small coffee shop in Berkeley, California, and sparked a revolution that forever changed American coffee culture. His insistence on fresh, small-batch roasted beans inspired the founders of Starbucks and launched what we now call the specialty coffee movement.

Over 60 years later, those same principles guide every cup we pour: craft commitment, selective sourcing, and a passion for education. We source beans with impact, roast them in small batches for maximum freshness, and train our baristas to share the story behind every origin.
