Indulge in the finest pastries, breads, and coffee pairings at Dubai's top bakeries.
Dubai's bakery scene blends two very different traditions: the artisan European bakery — sourdough, croissants, cruffins, levain — and the Middle Eastern sweets house with baklava, kunafa, ma'amoul and booza. Both belong on this page, and both pair beautifully with coffee. Our team visits each bakery in person, photographs the pastry case and tastes before recommending.
Below are the bakeries we've personally visited and rated.
BABA ROMA Boulevard Downtown is the artisan French-Italian bakery on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard — flaky croissants, cruffins, focaccia, and a properly pulled flat white to drink with them. Pet-friendly outdoor terrace, laptop-friendly indoor seating, open from 07:00 to 22:00. One of our editors' picks.
Hallab 1881 Kasr El Helou is the Lebanese institution — open since 1881 — bringing handcrafted baklava, kunafa, ma'amoul and booza ice cream to Dubai Mall's Cinema Parking lower-ground level. Open until 01:00, perfect for after-Fountain dessert runs or midnight gourmet-gift shopping. Editors' pick and the only bakery on this list with confirmed parking.
A KofeVibe bakery has to nail three things: the pastry has to be made on-site or freshly delivered daily; the venue has to be a place you'd actually want to sit in (not just a counter); and the coffee has to be drinkable enough that pairing isn't a compromise. The two bakeries currently on this page meet all three.
